Cataract Surgery Costs

Paying for Cataract Surgery

The cost of cataract surgery will vary depending on a number of factors. Where you live, your choice of surgeon and your choice of lens will all affect how much your surgery costs.

At least a portion of the cost to implant traditional IOLs, such as AcrySof® IQ Aspheric IOLs, is often covered by private insurance or Medicare. However, advanced technology lenses, such as AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR® IOL and AcrySof® Toric IQ IOL, are typically not fully covered. Many doctors offer payment plans, but out-of-pocket costs will vary.
